KOCHI: The district administration on Friday distributed financial assistance to 53 families who were evicted from the Moolamppilly and Kothad islands in Kadamakudy village for the proposed International Container Transhipment Terminal at Vallarpadam. Deputy Collector (Land Acquisition) Rema Devi handed over the first package at the Udyogamandal ICCT Special Tahsildar office at 11 a.m. Tahsildar Susheela Jacob handed over the package to the evictees. Four more families are yet to be given financial assistance.
