Effigies burnt, buses damaged

VILLUPURAM: The effigies of BJP leader Yeddiyurappa and Kannada Chaluvaligas leader Vattal Nagaraj were burnt at Tindivanam and Villupuram on Friday.

In another incident, the windscreen of a Karnataka State Transport Corporation bus, parked at the new bus stand here, was smashed.

In Cuddalore, the effigies of Mr. Yeddiyurappa were burnt at three places. Lawyers at Vriddhachalam blocked the road to protest against the violence unleashed on Tamils in Karnataka.

They were arrested and later released. — Special Correspondent
