Two injured in clashes

KOLAR: Two people were injured in a group clash allegedly between supporters of the Congress and the Janata Dal (Secular) at Gownipalli in Srinivaspur taluk on Thursday night. The injured were identified as Raghavendra and Sheshadri of the JD(S). The police have arrested two persons in connection with the incident.

The trouble started when JD(S) supporters objected to the defection of two party activists, Ramamurthy and Anjanappa, to the Congress recently. Irked over the development, some workers stormed the residence of Anjanappa triggering a clash. — Staff Correspondent
