Lucknow mystery

A RARE PHENOMENON: A pair of silver pheasants in Lucknow Zoo on Friday. A curious change has been observed in the female bird. Normally the female pheasant is a little brownish, but the female of the species seen here in the foreground has white feathers. The zoo director, Renu Singh, told The Hindu that this pair has been in captivity for more than 20 years now. No one knows how the sudden change has come about.
