Hardwar division follows suit

Staff Correspondent

DEHRA DUN: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited-Hardwar has registered an all-time high turnover of Rs.2658 crore with a sharp growth of 17 per cent over last year in which both Heavy Electrical Equipment Plant (HEEP) and Central Foundry Forge Plant (CFFP) have made significant contributions.

Announcing this at a press conference in Hardwar on Friday, HEEP Executive Director D. K. Mody said his unit alone posted a record turnover of Rs.2350 crore during 2007-08. This had been possible through timely delivery of equipment and effective labour put in by the workforce.

Most of the equipment delivered had been manufactured in the plant itself leading to a shop turnover of Rs.1769 crore as against Rs.1484 crore in 2006-07, a jump of 19%. The profit before tax for the year rose to Rs.449 crore, with an operational cash surplus of Rs.756 crore, Mr. Modi said. “The customers’ confidence in the unit was more than reflected as we received orders worth over Rs.5000 crore,” he added. CFFP Executive Director S. M. Mahajan said his unit was moving ahead with an all-time high turnover of Rs.308 crore. It had an order book position of Rs. 478 crore. CFFP is also augmenting its manufacturing capacity for castings and forgings from 8000 Metric Tons per year to 16,000 MT/year with an investment of Rs.150 crore.
