ELCOT pays Rs. 2.70 cr. in nomination charges

CHENNAI: The State Government has earned nearly Rs. 3 crore in nomination charges from the Electronics Corporation of Tamil Nadu (ELCOT), the procurement agency, for the year ending March 2008. The Government takes back 30 per cent of the revenue for entrusting the ELCOT with procurement without floating tender.
