Woman knocked down

An aged woman was fatally knocked down by a speeding vehicle on the Tiruchi–Karur national highway at Pettavaithalai in the district on Thursday night. The identity of the deceased is yet to be established. Police sources said it was a hit-and-run case. The body has been sent to the Government Hospital here.
