Akshara Jyothi rally

The 16th Umar Alisha Akshra Jyothi rally conducted by Umar Alisha Rural Development Trust, Pitapuram, was held at Krishnarayapuram in the city on Friday. Corporator of 70th ward Senapathi Vasantha flagged off the rally. Trust convener Anand Kumar Pingali said that Trust Chairman Umar Alisha had started the ‘Akshara Jyothi’ programme in 1992 with the objective of wiping out illiteracy from the country. Akshara Jyothi volunteers PBT Sundari, V. Sajoja and V. Lalitha were present.
