Indo-German research project planned

HYDERABAD: India and Germany plan to undertake several major research projects, including oil exploration study in the Ganga Basin.

The other projects to be taken up are covering the NS corridor to study the lithospheric structure and seismo-tectonic and exploration studies under the joint collaboration. The funding will be done by Germany and the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. The decision to undertake the projects was taken here on Thursday at the first Indo-German workshop on “electromagnetic Induction studies for complex geological problems” organised at Lonavala, near Mumbai.

A press release issued here by the National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI) said professors from Germany will guide young Indian researchers. German students will come to India under sandwich programmes.
