PORT-OF-SPAIN: The West Indies took five wickets for 61 in the morning session on Friday to dismiss Sri Lanka for 278 before reaching 49 for no loss by lunch on the second day of the second Test. After resuming on 217 for five at Queen’s Park Oval, Sri Lanka was led by Chamara Silva, who top-scored with 76 and was involved in a sixth-wicket stand of 105 with Tillekeratne Dilshan (62). Fidel Edwards took four for 84, while Daren Powell had two for 59 and Jerome Taylor two for 74 for the West Indies. Sri Lanka faltered after Dilshan and Silva resumed after a rain-hit first day. Dilshan added only four runs to his overnight score before falling in the day’s first over, top-edging a hook off Edwards for wicketkeeper Denesh Ramdin to hold a fine, running catch on the leg side. Next over, Ramdin held another top-edged catch as Chaminda Vaas fell to Powell for one. Silva added 23 for the last wicket with debutant Ishara Amerasinghe before becoming the third batsman to fall to the hook shot. — AP
