PUDUCHERRY: The Puducherry Women’s Commission will conduct a training programme for school teachers to equip them for guiding girl students in their adolescence. “We initially plan to start the training programme for secondary school teachers in government schools by June,” S. She was speaking at the inaugural of Multilingual Women Writers meet organised by Karnataka Sangha, Puducherry, and the Karnataka Lekhakiyara Sangha, Bangalore, here on Saturday. Teachers would be trained to handle the girl students to cope with the biological and psychological changes during adolescence, she said adding that the commission would consult with officials of the Education Department to chart out the programme. Steps had been taken to recruit resource persons for conducting the programme. K.R.
