CPI calls for bandh on April 15

Krishnagiri: The Communist Party of India (CPI) has called for bandh in Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri districts on April 15 to protest against Kannada outfits opposing the Hogenakkal drinking water scheme.

The was taken at a district committee meeting here on Saturday. Presided over by CPI State council member Deva Perinban, it condemned former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa’s remarks and accused him of trying to stall the scheme. The Kannada outfits were creating a rift between Tamils and Kannadigas to gain political mileage, it said. — Staff Reporter
