NFPE State meet in Kasaragod

KASARAGOD: The 33rd State conference of the National Federation of Postal Employees (NFPE) will be held here from April 17 to 19, general convener of the organising committee P.V. Rajendran and its working chairman Ravindran Kodakkad have said.

State Planning Board Vice-Chairman Prabhat Patnaik will inaugurate the trade union meeting on April 17 morning.

Leaders of various trade unions are expected to take part in the meeting.

A cultural meeting will be held in the evening. ‘Kuruthippadam’, a drama, will be staged after the meeting. CPI(M) Polit Bureau member Sitaram Yechury will inaugurate the delegates’ meeting on April 18.

A women’s meeting would be held in the afternoon session on the day. CITU all-India secretary Hemalatha will inaugurate the meeting.

A rally will be held in Kasaragod town on the day at 4 p.m.

The rally will conclude on the new bus stand premises where a public meeting will be held.

A performance of various folk arts will be held at the venue after the meeting.

The delegates’ meeting will continue on April 19. The election of new office-bearers of the organisation will be held on the day.
