Thrissur: The Central team deputed to study crop loss in the recent summer rain in Kerala visited the affected paddy fields in Thrissur on Saturday. The team, led by A.K. Yadav, Joint Secretary (Home), visited Kanimangalam, Pallppuram, Eanamavu and Ponnamutha, where large areas of paddy fields about to be harvested had been damaged. Earlier, Collector M. Beena informed the team that paddy crop in over 6,000 hectares was damaged, causing a loss of Rs.30.20 crore affecting 14,002 farmers.— PTI Staff Reporter writes from Malappuram: The team visited the kole fields at Ponnani in Malappuram district on Saturday. The team members visited Neelayil and Srayilkadavu in Nannamukku village.
