Intel grants given away to schools

Bangalore: Governor Rameshwar Thakur on Saturday gave away a grant of Rs. 29 lakh provided by Intel India to 23 schools in Bangalore where the company’s employees voluntarily worked under a community initiative programme.

The grant was given under Intel Involved Matching Grant Programme (IIMGP), a community initiative under which Intel employees work at selected educational institutions, mainly government schools.

They engage in activities like teaching basic computer skills, supporting teachers in teaching science, mathematic, conduct workshop on career alternatives, and HIV awareness, among others.
