MRPS grills Koneru on statue issue

VIJAYAWADA: Municipal Administration Minister Koneru Ranga Rao was virtually grilled by some activists of the Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) at a meeting held to celebrate the 101st birth anniversary of former Deputy Prime Minister Babu Jagjivan Ram on Saturday.
Activists led by M. Sridhar Madiga, M. Venkateswara Rao and Manikyala Rao demanded that the Minister explain the reason for the delay in unveiling the statue of Jagjivan Ram at Veeravalli village. They demanded immediate solution to the problem. The Minister had to finally announce that the government would take a suitable decision in a week.
