HYDERABAD: Top-ranked Indonesia ‘A’ advanced to the men’s final of the Asian beach volleyball championships, defeating Thailand ‘A’ 12-21, 21-19, 15-7 in the semifinals at the Necklace Road courts here on Saturday evening. Making the most of the fatigue that the Thai pair of Borworn Yungtian and Sataporn Sawangrueang would have suffered from, on account of playing the day’s first match at 3 p.m. in the searing heat, the Indonesian duo of Andy Ardyansyah and Koko Prasetyo staged a comeback to record a 12-21, 21-9, 15-7 victory. The results: Men: Semifinals: Indonesia ‘A’ (Andy Ardyansyah & Koko Prasetyo) bt Thailand ‘A’ (Borworn Yungtian & Sataporn Sawangrueang) 12-21, 21-19, 15-7. Quarterfinals: Thailand ‘A’ (Yungtian & Sawangreueang) bt New Zealand (Russel Watson / Greg Lindsay) 21-17, 21-16; China ‘A’ (Tian Gaotang & Han Shen Wei) bt Kazakhstan ‘A’ (Alexander Babichev & Alexey Kuleshov) 21-16, 21-16.
