Man drowns in well

RASIPURAM: A government employee drowned in a well in Mangalapuram near here recently. Police said Pannerselvam (48), working in the Rasipuram taluk office, was lifting an electric motor from the well, when he lost balance and fell in. Mangalapuram police registered a case.

Killed

A seven-year-old child was fatally knocked down by a car near Taramangalam on Saturday. Police said Aravindkumar was returning home after buying groceries when the accident took place. He died on the spot.
