Lt. Governor’s assurance

PUDUCHERRY: Lieutenant Governor Bhopinder Singh promised to look into the memorandum submitted by Member of Parliament M. Ramadass and members of local bodies on Saturday.

The office of the Lt. Governor said in a release the members had submitted a representation on the constitutional obligation of the government in devolving the powers to the local bodies as envisaged in the 73rd and 74th amendments of the Constitution .
