Next round of ‘praja padham’ from April 10

Staff Reporter

Kakinada: The stage is set for the commencement of another round of ‘praja padham’ programme in the district on April 10 with drinking water supply, electricity, NREGS, Rajiv Arogyasri, EMRI services and Aam Admi Bima Yojna as the thrust areas.

Addressing a meeting, Collector Gopalakrishna Dwivedi instructed officials to focus on the areas and to the extent possible, try to solve any problem on their own except the cases of financial commitment. The Collector ordered the officials to constitute teams at the mandal level to closely monitor implementation of the schemes, failing which achieving the targets would be a daunting task. Stringent action would be taken against the derelict officials, Mr. Dwivedi added.

DRDA Project Director Ch. Kumara Swami, Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer D. Nagesh Babu and Chief Planning Officer B. Surendra Babu participated .
