dated April 7, 1958: Dramatic art of India

Mr. Leonard Leone, Director of Wayne State University Theatre, referred in appreciative terms to the great traditions of India in dramatic art and the wealth of dramatic work the country possessed in different languages. The 15-member Wayne University Theatre Group is now in Madras. The troupe has so far performed in Bombay, Baroda, Allahabad, Delhi, Calcutta and Hyderabad. The trip has been arranged under the auspices of the President’s Special International Programme for Cultural Presentation administered by the American National Theatre and Academy.
