Hospital for birds coming in Surat

Surat: A hospital with ultra modern facilities where only birds are treated is coming up in Surat.

The health centre is being built by a trust, Beauty Without Brutality, at a cost of Rs. 25 lakh in Pal village, near Hazira.

“This hospital, first of its kind in the State, will have a fully equipped operation theatre,” said Vishakha Kantawala, chairman of the trust.

It will have separate cages under a special 600 sq ft glass dome where birds with critical injuries will be treated. “Every bird requires special treatment. We have taken their special needs into consideration while designing the hospital,” Ms. Kantawala said. The facility will also have a separate arrangement for migratory birds, she added. — PTI
