Italy holds Malaysia

Chennai: Italy held Malaysia to a 4-4 draw in the Olympic qualifier men’s hockey tournament on Sunday at GIFU-Japan. The teams were locked 1-1 at half-time.

In other matches, World champion Germany scored its second successive victory outclassing Switzerland 10-0 (half-time 5-0), while Japan swamped Poland 6-1 to record its second win in as many matches.

Germany and Japan lead the table with six points after two rounds.

The winner of this event becomes the 12th team for the Beijing Olympics.
