Rajakumar triumphs

VIJAYAWADA: Ongole’s Ch. Rajakumar (Axis Bank) won the State Open rapid chess championship scoring four points out of a possible five, conducted by the Hyderabad-based Cyber Chess Academy here on Sunday. He won the tournament on progressive scoring. Vijayawada’s Sai Krishna and Guntur’s R. Eswar finished second and third.

Important results: F inal round: Ch. Rajakumar (4) lost J. Malleswara Rao (4); R. Eswar (4) bt Purushotham (3); Sai Krishna (4) bt Venkat Sai Suraj (3); Sk. Kashim (3.5) bt K.V.K. Karthik (3); Ch. Divyasri (3.5) bt Sk. Saidulu (2.5).
