Armaan finishes 12th

CHENNAI: Armaan Ebrahim finished 12th after starting 25th on the grid in the main race of the GP2 Series in Dubai.

Having the handicap of no testing and also having to learn the track, it was a foregone conclusion that he would start from behind. But with every lap in the 30 minute test session and the qualifying run, Armaan kept improving his pace.

Armaan made a good start and made four places in the first lap. The safety car came out at the end of lap one after a big crash involving Luca Filipi. The team pitted both their cars immediately when the safety car came out.

From there on the race was incident-free and lap by lap, Armaan picked up the pace passing many experienced drivers along the way.

He moved up to 12th place with about 15 laps to go and from there on held his place till the end. Armaan’s quickest lap of the race was a 1 min 46.7 secs.
