Five killed in accident

COIMBATORE: Five youth were killed when the car in which they were travelling rammed into a lorry late on Saturday night near Irugur here.

Shresta Yasaswi Gomes (18), who drove the car, Sudhakar (29) and Ashokan (23) died on the spot. Aravindan (24) and Shakthi Karthik (25) were rushed to a private hospital by the public who gathered at the crash site, according to police.

While Aravindan died on way to the hospital, Shakthi Karthik died on Sunday morning.

The driver of the lorry, Nagaraj, was taken into custody. — Special Correspondent
