Sarwan keeps Windies in the hunt

PORT OF SPAIN: Vice-captain Ramnaresh Sarwan steadied West Indies after it lost three quick wickets on the fourth day of the second Test against Sri Lanka on Sunday.

At lunch, West Indies, chasing 253 and seeking to square the series, was 93 for three with Sarwan on 45.

Shivnarine Chanderpaul was unbeaten on 13 at lunch, which was taken 20 minutes early due to a rain shower. Earlier, Thilan Samaraweera collected his sixth Test hundred as the visitor was dismissed for 268 in the second innings just before the scheduled close on Saturday.— Agencies
