Sporting beats New Delhi Heroes

Kolhapur: Mohammedan Sporting rode on a brace by Subair Muritala Ali to outplay struggling New Delhi Heroes 3-1 in a Group B encounter here on Sunday and qualified for the I-League second division final round in Guwahati.

Subair Muritala Ali scored in the 45th and 47th minutes while teammate Adebayo Tokunbo found the target one minute before the final whistle.

For the Delhi side, Pradeep Gurung netted in the 48th minute.

After this win, the Kolkata side has nine points from four matches and joins Mumbai FC, which has nine points from three, in the final round. — PTI
