Indians lose bronze medals

KOLKATA: The Indian men’s recurve team and Tarundeep Rai failed to come up with any medal from the first World Cup archery championship at Santo Domingo in Dominican Republic on Saturday.

Rai, figuring in the bronze medal fight against World championship runner-up Baljnima Tsyrempilov of Russia, failed to produce the form that placed him in the last four by losing the contest 99-110 points.

The Indian men’s recurve team, comprising Jayanta Talukdar, Rahul Banerjee and Mangal Singh, went down to Italy at 213-209. — Special Correspondent
