Staff Reporter

This time, it is coupled with a holiday on Monday

Adding to the chaos were the mini shuttle services

Many buses left the city well beyond the scheduled time

Bangalore: Roads leading to the Kempe Gowda Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation bus station were choked with vehicles on Saturday evening as people packed their bags for their weekend getaways.

This time, it is coupled with a holiday on Monday for Ugadi.

Mysore Road leading to the KSRTC satellite bus station, from where the buses plying towards Mysore are operated, too witnessed traffic jam.

Adding to the chaos were the mini shuttles that transported passengers from the Kempe Gowda bus station to the satellite bus station.

The additional buses pressed into service by the KSRTC to meet the demands of weekend rush also contributed to the traffic jam as did those who turned up in private vehicles.

Many buses left well beyond the scheduled time as they could not exit from the bus station.
