Tata Power synchronises first unit at Haldia

KOLKATA: Tata Power on Monday synchronised its first unit at the 2x45 MW independent power project (IPP) at Haldia. The second unit is scheduled for commissioning later this year. The company had acquired the 2x45 MW IPP from Hooghly MetCoke & Power Company, which is a 98 per cent subsidiary of Tata Steel (the remaining portion is held by the West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation). — Special Correspondent
