KOCHI: The Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation (Supplyco) will open people’s bazaars in three more districts on Tuesday in view of Vishu. Besides, Vishu fairs have started operating at all Supplyco outlets from Monday. Minister for Civil Supplies C. Divakaran instructed to open people’s bazaars in Kottayam, Kollam and Kannur districts following the heavy rush at the bazaars in Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode. Minister for Labour P.K. Gurudasan will inaugurate the bazaar in Kollam and Transport Minister Mathew T. Thomas will open the one in Kottayam. District panchayat president K.K. Narayanan will inaugurate the bazaar in Kannur. People’s bazaars and Supplyco’s important supermarkets have special stalls for making available vegetables and fruits at fair price. Enough stock has been moved to the godowns to continue the scheme of providing rice at reduced price in April also. In the backdrop of the prevailing high prices in the open market, the working of the stock monitoring cell at the head office of Supplyco has been intensified to ensure availability of essential commodities, including rice. Arrangements have also been made for replacing the products bought from Supplyco stalls if the consumers are not satisfied with the quality of the products.
