Sports Day celebrated

PUDUCHERRY: Villianur College for Women, Villianur celebrated its first Sports Day on April 5.

Speaking on the occasion, chairman of Villianur Commune Panchayat K. Natarasan urged the government to take steps towards acquisition of land for construction of own building for the college. This would help the college to start new courses, thereby enabling more students from rural areas to have access to education, he added. Principal of the college V. Ramassamy and Joint Director of Department of Agriculture T. Rajamani spoke on the occasion, a release said.
