Mayor rubbishes Sheila’s claim

NEW DELHI: Mayor Arti Mehra has written to Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit challenging her claim of the MCD “illegally collecting a one-time parking fee along with conversion charges from residents of Delhi” in newly declared mixed-land use areas. Ms. Mehra said: “This is reflective of ignorance on the part of the Chief Minister. In compliance with the Master Plan and a DDA notification, the owner/resident has to pay one-time charges per 50 square metres of plot area. One-third charges were to be paid by June 30 last year.”
