Arjun, Tulasi triumph

BANGALORE: Arjun Roshnik Bharath of Bangalore and M. Tulasi of Mysore clinched the boys’ and girls’ titles respectively in the State under-9 chess championship here on Sunday. Arjun scored the full nine points, while Tulasi scored six from six rounds.

Final standings: Boys: 1. Arjun Roshnik Bharath (Bangalore, 9 points); 2. R.U. Anantharam (Mangalore, 8); 3. Vivek Raj (Hassan, 7); 4. Sharan Rao (Mangalore, 7); 5. K.C. Prakhyath (Shimoga, 6.5).

Girls: 1. M. Tulasi (Mysore, 6); 2. V. Sharanya (Ban, 4.5); 3. Neha S. Byali (Ban, 4.5); 4. Panchami Shenoy (Man, 4); 5. Kavana K. Prabhu (Shimoga, 4).
