Sonepat: An assistant jail superintendent of the district jail was allegedly attacked by unidentified assailants here, police said on Monday. The assailants attacked Prithi Singh with batons and iron rods, leaving him injured. Singh was instrumental in seizing as many as 14 mobiles phone during search operations in the district jail last week. Police officials suspect that some persons close to the inmates, whose mobiles were seized during the raid, were behind the attack.
