MALAPPURAM: P.V. Abdul Wahab, MP, was reportedly “offloaded” from an Air India flight at the Calicut International Airport on Monday following a verbal exchange with the captain. Mr. Wahab, who was travelling to Dubai, had reached the airport to board the 8.55 a.m. flight IC-998, bound for Kochi. Airline officials said the flight was delayed by half-an-hour as there was a passenger on a stretcher from Doha. When Mr. Wahab approached the aircraft along with the duty manager of Air India, Flight Captain Rajat Rana is reported to have scolded the latter for the delay. Mr. Wahab had an exchange of words with the captain, who eventually refused to fly with him on board. Air India Airport Manager R. Sreenivasan denied that he was "offloaded. “He volunteered to get off.”
