Injured person dies in hospital

Sivakumar (40) who sustained grievous injuries after being attacked with an ‘aruval’ by M. Murthy (55), a coconut seller, a couple of days ago at Samayapuram, succumbed on Sunday. The police which initially registered the case as an attempt to murder have altered it as a case of murder following the death of S. Sivakumar.

Police sources said Sivakumar had illegal relationship with the wife of M. Murthy.

Murthy allegedly attacked Sivakumar with an ‘aruval’ near Samayapuram bus stand causing grievous injuries. Sivakumar who was admitted to a private hospital here succumbed on Sunday.

Murthy has been arrested.
