She couldn’t stomach Rahul’s successful tours: Congress

NEW DELHI: The Congress on Monday dismissed Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati’s remarks about party general secretary Rahul Gandhi at a rally.

Ms. Mayawati said Mr. Gandhi underwent “purification” after visiting Dalit homes during his tours in U.P..

“I won’t use the same language for someone who is envious of Mr. Gandhi’s successful tours and cannot stomach them. They may shed crocodile tears [for Dalits] but it is Rahul Gandhi who is really concerned about them,” said Congress spokesman Abhishek Singhvi.
