SIET readies CDs featuring solutions for questions of engineering entrance exams held in the past two years THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Institute of Educational Technology (SIET) has readied a 25-hour-long programme featuring solutions for the questions of the engineering entrance examinations held in the State in 2006 and 2007. The entrance top winner CDs are now available for sale at the SIET CD Mart functioning at the Science and Technology Museum near PMG Junction. The CDs also feature solutions to the questions in the online model entrance examination conducted by the SIET in 2007. In addition to solutions to the questions, the CDs explain how the answers were arrived at. The top winner CDs discuss, in this manner, 360 questions from each entrance examination paper. A pressnote issued by the SIET said students living in cities spend a lot of money getting themselves coached to appear for the entrance examinations. Such training is beyond the reach of vast numbers of students living in semi-urban or rural areas in the State. Target groupThere is any number of students in higher secondary classes in schools in rural areas who would perform well in entrance examinations if they are provided the right training for the same. The situation today is that many of these students do not even apply for the entrance examinations because they do not have access to coaching classes, the pressnote said. It is with the aim of helping such students appear for the entrance examinations that the SIET has readied the top winner CD kit. This digital learning content has been prepared by expert teachers and can be used even by an average student. DiscountThis kit costing Rs.5,000 is being offered at a discount of 80 per cent and is thus available for Rs.1,000. Further details about the kit and the CDs can be had from the Mart on phone 0471 2338541 or 2338540.
