BIDAR: Ousted president of the district unit of the Karnataka State Government Employees’ Association Rajendra Jonnikeri on Tuesday said that he was studying various legal aspects for initiating action against the appointment of Basavaraj Barshetty in his place. Addressing presspersons here, Mr. Jonnikeri said that as per the bylaw, a person to be appointed as president of the association, he should be an elected member. But Mr. Barshetty was a nominated member. However, Mr. Jonnikeri admitted that he had resigned from the post owing to the pressure from Mr. Barshetty. Accusing Mr. Barshetty of torturing him mentally, Mr. Jonnikeri said: “After my appointment, Mr. Barshetty created many problems and never allowed me to settle in office.” He accused Mr. Barshetty of being power hungry.
