FIR lodged against a Sub-Inspector stayed
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE: The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday stayed a first information report (FIR) lodged against a Sub-Inspector of police in Kodagu district by his colleague. Justice K.L. Manjunath passed the order on a petition by Santosh Kumar, a Sub-Inspector of Police of Siddaura police station in Kodagu district, who challenged the FIR lodged against him by the Sub-Inspector of Madikeri Town police station. He said the FIR was registered against him though he is a law-abiding officer.
Justice Manjunath, in an interim order, stayed the FIR and also ordered issue of notices to the State and other respondents. He adjourned further hearing on the petition.
