CADA official’s life is under threat: wife
Special Correspondent
Bangalore: Jayashree J.N., RTI activist and wife of IAS officer M.N. Vijayakumar, has appealed to the Governor to save her husband’s life by keeping him under suspension and moving him out of Belgaum where he is posted as the Administrator of Command Area Development Authority (CADA).
Speaking to presspersons here on Tuesday, Ms. Jayashree alleged that there was a “conspiracy” to murder her husband.
She said she would soon be filing a criminal complaint naming officers in the Department of Personnel Administrative Reforms (DPAR) who, she alleged, were party to it.
In her letter to the Governor she has cited 16 lapses by the authorities in providing Mr. Vijaykumar protection which has forced her to make “the extremely odd request”.
She said that he had not even been provided residential accommodation in Belgaum and there had been several threats to his life which the police had failed to investigate.
Ms. Jayashree said that she wrote to the Chief Secretary on February 14 seeking an appointment to discuss the issue of her husband’s safety.
However, she was yet to get an appointment, she added.
