Explosives seized on Bhutan border

Guwahati: The Assam police and the Central Reserve Police Force on Tuesday seized explosives meant for the banned United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) near the Bhutan border.

At least 30 grenades and detonators fitted with time devices were seized from three persons at Sandrup Jongkhar.

This was stated by G.P. Singh, DIG, Central Western Range. One of the three was Manoj Gorh from Bhutan.

The explosives were hidden in a bag and were meant for the ULFA’s 27th battalion based on the northern bank of the Brahmaputra, he said. — PTI
