Woman found dead at Tambaram

Some ‘personal problems’ were cited as the reason

Police recovered a note from her house

TAMBARAM: A 35-year-old woman was found dead outside her house in Kannadapalayam, Tambaram, on Monday evening.

The Tambaram police said Bhuvaneswari (35) was separated from her husband about four years ago. She was living with her two children in Jothi Nagar in Kannadapalayam and was working with a private travel agency.

On Monday evening, her neighbours noticed Bhuvaneswari lying unconscious. The police said they recovered a note from her house.

The letter, suspected to be written by the woman, attributed the motive of her suicide to her personal problems.

Police said the woman had consumed acid, while stating the exact cause of the death could be ascertained only after they received the post-mortem report.

Girl jumps from building

A 14-year-old girl was injured after she jumped from the terrace of a three-storeyed building in St. Thomas Mount on Monday evening.

Police said A. Manimegalai resided in a welfare home for children on Butt Road, St. Thomas Mount, as her mother, living in Perambur, was unable to look after her.

On Monday, her mother, who visited the home, reportedly chided her for getting involved in a quarrel with other residents.

Upset, the girl climbed up to the terrace of a three-storeyed building nearby.

She jumped and landed on Vignesh, a member of the home, who tried to save her. Both were injured and are undergoing treatment at the Government General Hospital in Chennai.

Police said they were out of danger.
