Not legally married: Sanjay

Mumbai: Actor Sanjay Dutt and his friend Manyata told a court here on Monday that they were not legally married, giving a twist to the case on their marital status.

Challenging the bigamy charge levelled by Manyata’s first husband Meraj Rehman, an undertrial, the two claimed that there was no material to show the validity of their marriage in the eyes of law. In an application filed before the Sessions Court challenging the order of issuance of process against them, Mr. Dutt and Ms. Manyata stated that their reported marriage in Goa was a nullity. — PTI
