Federation condemns rise in prices of construction material

CHENNAI: The Federation of Tamil Nadu Flat and Housing Promoters Association has condemned the increase in prices of construction material and urged the government to take corrective action.

The additional levies and taxes for new buildings are taking housing out of the reach of the middle class, the Federation said.

The price of iron has shot up by 100 per cent within months, according to a press release.

The Centre should curb export and prioritise local needs.
