Producers’ Association to get explanation

Staff Reporter

CHENNAI: The Producers’ Association, along with associations of actors, film industry workers and traders has resolved to demand explanations from members who did not participate in the protest fast held on Friday.

After the letters of explanation are received, they would decide on further course of action, according to a press release.

Representatives of the Tamil film industry had on Friday voiced their protest against attacks on screens showing Tamil films in Karnataka, following Tamil Nadu’s decision to go ahead with the Hogenakkal project.

The associations have further decided that the Kannada and Tamil film industries should henceforth work in unity. The associations would talk to Kannada film industry associations to reach a consensus.
