‘Enrolment in schools improves’

CHIRALA: Union Minister of State for Human Resources D. Purandareshwari here on Wednesday said that the Sarva Sikha Abhiyan and the mid-day meal schemes helped improve enrolment of students, particularly girls, in schools.

Launching the Public Information Campaign organised by the Press Information Bureau at municipal high school grounds, she said that the Sarva Siksha Abhiyan helped 13 crore children in the country. An equal number of students were benefited by the mid-day meal. Attendance in schools increased and parents were sending girls to school, she said.
