Corrections and clarifications

* * In the column “This Day That Age — from the pages of The Hindu dated April 9, 1958” (April 9, 2008) the first item “All India Radio” said “The Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Dr. K.V. Keskar, rejected the suggestion made by several members in the Lok Sabha, on April 7, to set up a corporation to run All India Radio ….” It was an editing error and should have been B.V. Keskar, as in the original copy.

* * In Makarand Waingankar’s column “Negative mindsets and negative approach” (“Sport”, April 8, 2008), the sixth paragraph was “Apart from 42 all out in 1974 in the Old Trafford Test, all the other low scores have been due to poor batting.” Waingarkar is right about the score, but he got the venue wrong. It was at Lord’s that India was all out for its lowest-ever total.
